Isn’t It Interesting

Isn’t it interesting

How in the beginning you’re lost

Scratching the surface of conversation

It’s like a flint against steel

Isn’t it interesting

How novelty makes you giggle

Stories of old are suddenly new

It’s like the water from a spring

Isn’t it interesting

How time is fleeting when it’s shared

Listening to a voice just for the sound

It’s like the music without the lyrics

Isn’t it interesting

When the past is shared with the present

As though they’ve never happened before

It’s like every love story rewound again

Isn’t it interesting

When you know it’s not unique

But your mind says it is, this time

It’s like asking your dog for a decision

Isn’t it interesting

Indeed.
